Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate,also named Epsom salt and sal amarum. the mo-lecular structure: MgSO4.7H2O. The molecular weight:246.48.

Magnesium sulphate is white or colorless crystal, odorless , soluble in water and little soluble in ethanol, It is liable t o airslake into powder, and lose crystal water if heated. Not containing any toxic substance .

Applications:

(1)Magnesium sulphate is a raw material for the production of compounding fertilizer.

(2)Magnesium sulphate can be used to prepare medicines such as cathartic, magnesium trisilicate and acetyl spiramycin and so on .

(3)In food industry, it can be used for lactic acid and nonosodium glutamate etc.

(4)For dyestuff, weight solvent, magnesium stain. In addition , it is used for sewage treatment.
